Carved by hand from a single block of Afyon marble —
extracted from the highland quarries of western Anatolia,
one of the most storied stone deposits in the ancient world.
This piece carries the full drama of the stone: a deep
charcoal body split open by bold white veins that move
across the surface like lightning caught in rock.

The Sensus is form at its most direct. Double-ended,
symmetrical, with rounded nodes at each terminus and
a subtle waist at the center. The form fits the hand
first — and everything else naturally follows.

Natural stone holds cold. It retains temperature — from
ice to warmth — with a consistency no synthetic material
can replicate. The weight is real. The mirror-polished
surface is glass-smooth against the skin.

Afyon marble has been quarried and shaped in this region
for thousands of years. The Romans shipped it across the
Mediterranean. The Ottomans built their hammams with it.
This piece carries that lineage — reduced now to its most
intimate and singular form.
